The gift of yoga is health -- physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and well-being.

On a physical level, practicing yoga improves strength, flexibility, balance, stability, internal health and body confidence.  The yoga practice can be individually-tailored to your personal therapeutic needs, to be energizing or relaxing, to correct muscular imbalances, to promote healing of an acute injury, or to address a chronic illness or injury.

On an emotional and mental level, yoga provides an opportunity to be with yourself in a compassionate, reflective way.  Through movement, breathing and meditation, yoga allows you to observe your emotions and thoughts in a non-judgmental way, so that you can gain clarity and insight into your own healing and transformation.  Through movement and meditation, you learn to stay in the present moment, and to cultivate the mental discipline to free yourself from negative repetitive thought and emotional patterns.  The result of yoga practice is reduced stress, and an experience of peace, equanimity and joy.

On a spiritual level, yoga can be a path to exploring and deepening your beliefs and values.  It connects you to the greater purpose of your life, your relationships with others, your mission in the world, and your relationship with the Divine.  The solitude of your yoga mat is a perfect place to dwell in prayer, religious teachings, and spiritual wisdom for healing and transformation.

My deepest intention and mission in teaching is to contribute to my students' healing in any way I can, through words, knowledge, hands-on support, and love.
